My recent music purchases
Spring Break is officially on. Can you tell? I'm updating this.
I'd thought I'd do a list of my recent music purchases and a wee explanation about the list of CD's I'm listening to (listed on the left) once the influx stifled, but new stuff just keeps coming in up the wazoo.
Here's what I've recently bought and/or acquired somehow that is worthy of a mention. In no particular order of course:
Elbow - Cast of Thousands
Ok, I know it came out a few months ago, but I'm slow sometimes when it comes to purchasing music from the U.K. Cast of Thousands is a golden nugget in amidst all the crap out there. "Fugitive Motel" can't get anymore beautiful.
Pablo Brazil - Greatest Hits of 2685
Dude. I haven't heard anything like THIS. Can you just spell 60s-mod-influence-bastard (especially in "Menagoie A Troi")?! Best $5 I've ever spent. (And they threw in a badge too!).
Snow Patrol - Final Straw
A full week before it's release date (thank you, Ebay), and it doesn't really live up to all the hype these Irish lads have been getting. Maybe live they'll be better. (BTW, they're playing at the Troubadour May 6).
Morning Spy - Subsequent Light
I actually got this a few weeks ago. It's really refreshing to listen to this San Francisco band's indie-pop tunes on Subsequent Light in amdist all the crap from the U.K. that besets my cd collection.
Paula Frazer - Place Where I Know
I'm supposed to review her album and it's so bad in quality!
Athlete - Vehicles & Animals
Vehicles & Animals owns my iPod at the moment.
March 30
March 25
Yes, another camera phone post!
